what we need to know
- Scale factor = New length / Original length
- A reduction has a scale factor of < 1.
- An enlargement has a scale factor of > 1.
- Similar polygons have corresponding side ratios (scale factors), and similar angles.
- To find an unknown length, set up a proportional ratio and cross multiply.
- Similar triangles have EITHER same angles OR same scale factors (corresponding sides ratios)
